Amen!

So, last night it was Kolby's turn to say the family prayer. ALL day long he made sure we were aware that is was HIS turn to say it.  So when it finally came time to say it, (with NO help from anyone) he begins. His sweet little prayers usually consist of things like, "Thankful for Grandma, and Robbie, and Jacob and, yummy food and games".  Well after a few of these, I sat down by him and tried to give him some ideas of other things to be thankful for. You know, like, our home, our family, etc. Well! He was not having any help from ANYONE with his prayer. So he decided to close with, " In the name of Transformers, AMEN!" The only thing we can think of as to why he said that, was that Jake has Transformer sheets on his bed and Kolby must have looked at them right at  that moment. We love our little Kolby and his sweet prayers and know that our Heavenly Father will appreciate a Transformer plug now and then . . .

EEEEWWWWWWWWW!!!!!

Look what I found!

The Mackey family went to Nunns park in Provo Canyon for a Sunday BBQ.  Grandpa saw Kolby twirling something between his fingers.  Grandpa got a kick out of what Kolby had found.  A HUGE . . . DEAD . . . GROSS dragonfly.  Grandpa told Kolby to go show his mommy what he had found.  As Kolby walked towards Mandi, he had twirled the dead carcass so much that the tail popped off.  That didn't damper his spirits one bit.  He was so proud to show mommy what he had discovered.  Needless to say, we took a couple of quick pictures and washed his hands ASAP.

A Star Wars Saturday!

I awoke with a great idea for a Saturday project.  As you've seen in past blog entries, our BOYS are Jedi Nerds!  Let's make some Stormtrooper guns! . . . I exclaimed.  Off to Lowe's we went.  What I thought would be a cheap project turned out to be $$$$$ PRICEY!  $50.00 later we were headed back for home.

Mandi and I decided that PVC piping would be the best bet . . . durable, and Stormtrooper worthy.  The BOYS helped sand the pipes for painting.

Sweet Mandi stayed by my side and was such a help.  She also gave me intermission hugs . . . THANKS HONEY!

The finished product.  Not bad for our first time.  It was worth every penny to see the smiles on their faces.  They haven't put them down for the past 3 days.  What a fun day . . . a memory that will stay with Mandi and I forever.

READY . . . AIM . . . LASER!

A tired Stormtrooper!  Thank you Jake and Kolby for being such fun and imaginative BOYS!  Mom and Dad love you!

Disneyland!

So every year, Josh goes to a trade show in Anaheim, and for 2 years in a row, Jake and I have gotten to fly out there and spend a few days at Disneyland with him! It is one of my favorite things to do with them. Kolby was a little too young to enjoy all that Disneyland has to offer, so he got to stay at home and be spoiled rotten by Grandma! What's better than THAT anyway?(On a side note, I was also just seeing how this Picasa thing works with blogging and I think I am going to like it once I get the hang of it.) Thanks Sasha!!

Good times at the park!

Super cool swing!!

Daddy is so strong!

Kolby was in heaven!

Best good friends!

My sweet Josh!

Gotta love the ducks!

Still dry...

Still sort of dry...

Getting wetter...

Ahhhh!!

So, one of our favorite things to do as a family is go and find parks to play at on Saturdays while the weather is still so perfect. So we went to a park that Josh had never been to before and me and the kids had. At this park,  there are 2 big fountains. And trying to keep my kids out of any water they see is almost impossible. SO! At first I say, " Yes you guys can put your feet in, but thats all!" And of course, eventually, they ended up with their shirts off and SOAKING WET!! And there also was this super cool swing thing that actually rotated while you swang! ( If you got someone strong enough to pull it) Thanks Daddy!! We all had such a blast just hanging out together and playing around. I am so thankful to have such a fun little family who really enjoys each other's company. I look forward to all the fun times yet to come!

Mandi-Girl!

My Dearest Mandi,
I LOVE this picture of you!  I had to share it with our friends and family.  It shows your spunk, beauty, and zest for life.  Nine years of being married is upon us and I just wanted to tell you how much I LOVE YOU!  Thank you for being my "BEST GOOD BUDDY" in hard times, and most important . . . the best of times.  Thank you for your warm welcome every time I come home from work.  For the two cutest "STAR WARS NERDS" in the world (Jake & Kolby).  You are everything to me and I look forward to FOREVER with you.

A Brother's Love...

Our two little boys are best friends.... and each others worst enemy! They can get along perfectly one minute, then want to kill each other the next. So, when these precious and rare moments show up, we HAVE to cherish them. We were on one of our usual Saturday outings, and Kolby only wanted to hold on to Jake's hand. And Jake loves to be the "big protecting brother" and will always jump at the chance to take care of his little brother. They are such sweethearts to each other (most of the time) and will definantly be "BFF"s" for life!!

Pre-school baby!!!

Well, the day has finally come!! Our little Kolby gets to go to pre-school! He has been waiting for this day ever since Jake started back at school. He always wanted to go too, and was usually bummed out when he couldn't. So when he knew that today would be HIS turn to go, He could barely stand it! In fact, his school doesn't start until 9:15 but he was dressed and ready to go by about 8:05. He just wandered around the house (with his backpack on) until I finally said it was time to go and he FLEW out of the house and started walking before I could even catch him. Its just around the corner so he wanted to walk there like the big boy that he is! His sweet teacher Mrs. Kari was waiting outside, and he ran right in!! He had so such fun and is so excited to go to school like his big brother Jake. And mom is SUPER excited to have a whole 6 hours and 45 minutes each week to herself!! ( But who's counting?)
Yay for pre-school!

More Star Wars

So, clearly we are going through a "Star Wars phase". All the boys do is play with their light sabers, and make the little fighting sounds that goes with it. So, Josh thought it would be fun to get them the Lego Star Wars game for our Playstaion. So, I went and got it thinking that they would LOVE it. Which they totally do, however, along with the game comes the fighting.... " No Kolby! I get to be the robot!" "JACOB!!! I want to be the guy with the light saber!" And so on.... SO! Josh said he would play with them and give our ears a break from the oh so happy sound of brothers playing, and they LOVED it! They quickly decided that playing games with daddy is WAY more fun than with each other. The second Josh sat down to play, the fighting stopped and they were totally mezmerized by the "awesomeness" of his playing. Thanks to my sweet hubby for keeping the peace in our home for the 30 minutes that we got.
Love you baby!!!
