Mother's Day

The boys and I gave mandi the new book (The Host) by Stephenie Meyer. Mandi also received a ticket to get her new book and the Twilight series signed by Stephenie. She went with my sisters to Thanksgiving Point where they waited in line for over seven hours to get her autograph. Talk about dedication! Mandi is now begging to read The Host to me. When will this all end Stephenie Meyer?

Mandi, Josh, and Twilight

Last summer Mandi began reading the Twilight series. She kept begging and begging me to read it with her. I had no desire in the world to read about vampires and romance. After awhile I gave in, but on one condition that she read it to me. I became hooked. As soon as the boys were down for the night, we would hop on the couch and Mandi would read away out loud to me. We had so much fun guessing what would happen next. It was also a blast being able to spend that time together alone. Mandi is such a good reader and I enjoyed every minute she read to me. We were so sad after we finished the series. We can't wait for the next book to come out this Aug. I entered this drawing (above) in a Twilight art contest. Sadly I lost, but I enjoyed drawing what I visioned the main characters to look like.

This is what "tired" looks like!

Here is our sweet Kolby totally exausted after a typical day of playing hard! He was throwing one of his little tantrums about something on the bottom of the stairs, and suddenly it was quiet. Kolby has NEVER been one to just give up and fall asleep, so this was definantly a moment to capture and cherish. Sleeping kids are ALWAYS preciousto take pictures of!!

Utah Lake Trail

Grandma and Grandpa invited us to go ride the new trail by Utah Lake.

It was so pretty with the snow capped mountains and sun bouncing off the water.

Poor Kolby and Jake. Both of them biffed it on the dirt and rocks.

Jake is such a good brother and always helps to calm Kolby down when he's hurt.

We stopped for a bit to let the boys throw rocks in the water. They could do it for hours if we let them.

MY SWEET MANDI!

By the time we headed back I was carrying a bike and Mandi had Kolby in her arms.

ROBBIE OUR DOGGIE

We love our Robbie!
He's been a member of our family for 6 years now. Since Oct. of '07 he's been growing out a pony tail to give him a little attitude! Robbie thinks he's pretty tough already, so we thought we'd help him out a bit more. We're thinking an earring next or a spiked collar! We almost lost him in the summer of '06 when he was ran over by a large truck. Mandi rushed Robbie to the Vet as I sped from work to meet her. We feared the worst, but being the strong dog that he is, he walked away just bruised and a little scratched. So here's to you Robbie! We love ya!
